Our story

On Tuesday, January 13, 1970, I decided to come to Canada as a tourist because I was fed up with work as a mariner. I loved this huge country called Canada so much that I decided to stay here. The people were friendly and the only thing I knew coming from Greece was how to be a cook. I was a cook by profession, so I started to work at a restaurant. I was very good and the second year I was here, I worked as a chef at one of the best restaurants, in St. Leonard, called Jardin. The next year, myself and two other partners bought this restaurant. I was sure that I knew what to do, because I loved my job. The first thing we did was buy the best quality ingredients, and we had the best prices in the area. In 1980, people and the cuisine they enjoyed started to change, so we decided to open up a fast food restaurant instead called Corvette. The name Corvette consumed me, because it represents superboats, supercars. and spaceships. The restaurant was on Viau and Robert in St. Leonard, and in 1997, we opened our second location on 2801 Masson, in Rosemont. The third location came in 2005, at 744 Jarry East, in Villeray. On August 13, 2023, we celebrated 50 years in the restaurant business, as Jardin and Corvette. We still work with the same passion that we had when we started in the restaurant business, and we always work alongside our neighbours and the neighbourhood. We love our customers and according to them, we are one of the best restaurants on the island. Stop by any day of the week and find out for yourself!
